omschrijving	Gorée (now in Senegal) was a major French West African trading centre and an important target for the British. The second expedition against Gorée was commanded by Commodore Augustus Keppel. After a fierce bombardment, the French surrendered and marines were landed to take possession of the post. Gorée was returned to French control at the conclusion of peace in 1763.
