omschrijvingBogus salt cellar said to have been owned by Nelson. One of a pair of shallow circular fluted silver salt cellars, originally gilt inside. The flat base of the salt cellar is engraved with an initial 'N' between two anchors, each with a short length of rope attached to the ring. Above are the chelengk and 'San Josef' crests between which is another crest of six crossed arrows, as used by the Bavent, Bowes, Dove, Keyne and Segrave families. It is part of the collection of 'Nelson relics' formed by John Corbett MP for Droitwich (d.1901) and presented by his brother Dr Thomas Corbett to the Nation.
