omschrijving | Silver salver with the arms of Vice-Admiral Lord Nelson (1758-1805)
Oval salver with a reeded border, standing on four feet. Engraved with Lord Nelson's coat of arms with supporters and the post-Nile chief to the shield. The motto 'TRIA IUNCTA IN UNO' is engraved on the garter around the shield, and 'FAITH AND WORKS' in a scroll below. Above is a viscount's and a duke's coronet, and the chelengk crest and the 'San Josef' crest (unnamed) with the motto 'FAITH AND WORKS'.
The salver is in a wooden presentation box with a plaque: 'THIS SALVER which belonged to his Great Uncle Horatio Viscount Nelson PRESENTED TO Herbert Horatio Viscount Trafalgar by his Cousin Frank Girdlestone 1879'.
