omschrijving | Chamber candlestick said to have been given by Vice-Admiral Lord Nelson to his wife.
The silver candlestick is mounted on an oval stand, with separate candle socket and conical extinguisher. The stand is engraved with Nelson's coat of arms surmounted by a viscount's coronet. The shield of the arms is of diamond form with an inescutcheon of Lady Frances Nelson's arms; there are no crests. The candlestick, stand and extinguisher have reeded borders, and the candlestick has a cut-away stem, originally intended to accommodate a pair of candle snuffers.
