omschrijvingAn oval pearlware, silver-shaped teapot with a deep lip at the top and ochre painted rims and knop to the lid. It is transfer-printed in brown with hand colouring in red, yellow, green and pink. On each side is a scallop-shaped reserve containing a ribbon inscribed 'TRAFALGAR' placed across the staff of a British ensign, flying above a gun, laurel branch and inverted foreign flags. The trophies are flanked by a pyramid and crocodile representing the Battle of the Nile and a fortress representing the Battle of Copenhagen. On either side of each scallop is a pair of tritons, blowing seashells and with their tails entwined. The lip of the teapot has a border of a Greek key pattern, a thistle, crossed laurel and palm branches, and two anchors. The border is repeated on the lid with a rose instead of the thistle. A thistle is printed on the spout and an olive branch on the handle.
