omschrijvingCreamware mug, transfer-printed in black with a medallion portrait of Vice-Admiral Horatio Nelson (1758-1805), a coronet and rays above, and the inscription 'TRAFALGAR'. Over the medallion, the winged figure of fame is shown blowing a trumpet and on either side are British ensigns and weapons with ships at sea behind. Below is a verse: 'The Briton murns (sic) what else can Britons do/While bleeding Nelson rises to her view/Still is there cause for Triumph when she shews/The captured colours of our Vanquish'd foes/And greater still when Fame was heard to say/All all were Nelsons on that glorious day'. The mug is shaped at the base and has a slightly protruding rim painted with a black line.
