Detail of one of the decorative paintings on the funnel casings representing the Grand Trianon and surrounding gardens at Versailles. It is framed by architectural elements to create a trompe l'oeil effect. The Grand Trianon was built in 1687 by Jules Hardouin Mansart for Louis XIV as a replacement for the Trianon de Porcelaine erected by Louis Le Vau.
