omschrijvingTerrestrial floor globe. Geographical details on the sphere show shipping routes with European and American trade centres in the far east. Ocean currents are also indicated. The most southern point reached by Cook is labelled. The south magnetic pole is labelled. There are 11 notes on ice barriers encountered by various explorers in the south polar region. There are records of six other explorations, including, for example, 'Bellingshausen 1821', 'Biscoe 1833' and 'Balleny 1839'. The most recent dates are found close to a group of islands, 'Heard I. 1853' and 'Macdonald I.n 1854'. A total of four oceans are named.
